On the afternoon of the 7th, Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that it held the '8th Yongin Special City Safety Culture Salon' at the Yongin Fire Station conference room.

The 'Safety Culture Salon' is the first of its kind among local governments nationwide, where heads of related organizations within the city, including the police, fire department, and education office, regularly meet every month to discuss cooperation and support for citizen safety.

At the meeting held under the theme of 'Fire Safety Education Embedded in Daily Life,' following a presentation by the Yongin Fire Station, Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il, Kim Hee-jung, Superintendent of Yongin Office of Education, Kim Jong-gil, Chief of Yongin Eastern Police Station, Kim Byung-rok, Chief of Yongin Western Police Station, Ahn Ki-seung, Chief of Yongin Fire Station, and Jang Jae-gu, Chief of Yongin Western Fire Station, discussed cooperation measures.

During the meeting, the Yongin Fire Station emphasized the importance of fire safety education to prevent large-scale fire casualties and stressed the cooperation of the city and other institutions. The fire station explained that over the past three years, it has conducted fire safety education 1,911 times for a total of 518,711 people and is providing training on fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and escape devices to eliminate safety blind spots.

The Yongin Fire Station proposed that the city and the Office of Education collaborate on ▲ online live education targeting schools ▲ broadcasting fire safety education videos using elevator media boards in apartment complexes ▲ and safety message broadcasts through apartment management offices.

In response, the mayor said, "The city will actively cooperate to promote the fire station's educational videos on fire evacuation and suppression methods through elevator screens in apartments, city hall, and district offices." He added, "We will also review whether safety videos for citizens can be displayed on screens inside the city's wide-area buses."

Following the meeting, Mayor Lee and other attendees also observed demonstrations by the fire station on extinguishing electric vehicle fires and ground evacuation methods using escape devices.
