Paju-si Appoints Nam Da-eun as 33rd Daily Honorary Mayor

On the 8th, Paju City in Gyeonggi announced that Nam Dae-eun (19) was appointed as the 33rd Daily Honorary Mayor on the 7th.

Nam Dae-eun, the honorary mayor who achieved three consecutive gold medals in dance sports at the 2023 and 2024 National Sports Festivals, was appointed by Kim Jin-gi, Deputy Mayor of Paju City, and spent the day handling tasks related to culture, her area of interest.

Her first task was receiving a briefing from the Director of Culture and Arts on the key points and current status of major projects in Paju’s cultural and artistic fields. She then visited the Paju City Municipal Arts Troupe practice room located in Unjeong to observe the rehearsal process of the troupe members and learn about overall matters related to the municipal arts troupe, concluding her morning schedule.

In the afternoon, she visited the ‘Paju National Folk Museum’ located in Tanhyeon-myeon, received a report on its operations, toured the open storage facility, and then proceeded to ‘Museum Hey,’ a 1,200-pyeong media art exhibition hall within the Unification Hill Tourist Zone, where she viewed various digital art exhibitions.

Nam Dae-eun, the 33rd Daily Honorary Mayor, said, “It was a valuable time to learn in detail about the cultural and artistic policies of the area where I live, and it was fascinating to visit various spaces where culture can be experienced up close.” She added, “Based on this experience, I will take an interest in city administration and listen attentively.”
