Korea Investment & Securities analyzed on the 8th that attention should be paid to Korea Aerospace Industries' efforts to strengthen its space business capabilities.
Korea Aerospace Industries announced the day before that it will acquire a 37.95% stake in Zenoco for 54.5 billion KRW.
Researcher Jang Nam-hyun from Korea Investment & Securities explained, "Korea Aerospace Industries is enhancing its space business capabilities by acquiring Zenoco and internalizing key defense components to improve production efficiency."
He added, "Currently, there is a growing demand for military satellites," and "Korea Aerospace Industries is already the lead company for the 425 project, which involves the introduction of military reconnaissance satellites." Furthermore, he emphasized, "They are developing a verification satellite to win contracts for the microsatellite system business," and "by acquiring Zenoco, they are strengthening their capabilities in manufacturing microscale SAR satellite payloads."
Researcher Jang also analyzed, "Korea Aerospace Industries has signed an MOU with KT and KT SAT and is attempting to participate in the development of 6G low-earth orbit communication satellites and military communication satellite projects," and "by acquiring Zenoco, they will be able to enhance their capabilities in manufacturing communication satellite payloads and operating stable satellite ground stations."
