"Let's Play in Korean"... Catholic University Hosts Korean Language Festival Competition

Over 600 International Students from 19 Countries Gather

Catholic University held a Korean language exchange event for international students.

The Korean Language Education Center at Catholic University hosted the "8th Foreigners' Korean Language Festival" on the 1st at the university's concert hall. At the event, over 600 international students from 19 countries including Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Myanmar, France, and the United States gathered to share talents prepared by each team and foster unity.

The Foreigners' Korean Language Festival is a program designed for international students to freely use the Korean they have studied, deeply understand Korean culture, and interact with other students.

In his congratulatory speech, Won Jong-cheol, President of Catholic University, said, "Studying a language can help truly understand the meaning through learning and understanding the culture of that country," and encouraged the students by adding, "I hope this event becomes a happy memory while enjoying Korean culture and helps with your Korean studies."

During the approximately three-hour event, the 'Ddokddok’S' team, which performed the play 'If We Meet Again,' won first place. Student Hwang Tan-dat and the 'To You' team won second place, while the 'Carry the First and Run' team, student Caitlin, and the 'Lovely Sisters' team received third place.

Nozomi, a student from the first-place 'Ddokddok’S' team, said, "I think we won first place as a result of the hard work with my classmates who prepared the event together," and shared her thoughts on winning, "I am grateful to Catholic University for holding such an event, and this experience, where I felt love and affection, will be remembered as a good memory in Korea."
