Among the close aides of Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States who has declared an end to the war in Ukraine, various measures are being discussed, including a delay in Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 6th (local time), Trump’s foreign policy advisers and close aides proposed to the transition team one of the peace plan options: to freeze the current front line where Russia occupies 20% of Ukrainian territory and to pressure Ukraine to postpone its efforts to join NATO.
If Ukraine promises not to join NATO for at least 20 years, the United States would, in return, continue to provide weapons support to Ukraine to deter future Russian attacks.
So far, Russia has regarded NATO expansion as a security threat and has pointed to Ukraine’s push to join NATO as one of these threats.
However, the aides said that Trump has not approved any specific plan related to ending the war in Ukraine.
