Netizens were horrified after hearing the story of a husband who demanded sexual relations from his wife who was mourning the loss of her grandfather.

Recently, a post titled "What is that damn relationship anyway?" was uploaded on an online community. The author, Mr. A, who revealed that he recently experienced the loss of his grandfather, began by saying, "While my husband and I were keeping vigil at the funeral home, it was time for the kids to come home from school, so I stopped by my parents' house to freshen up."

However, upon arriving at the parents' house, the husband suddenly expressed a desire to have sex after a long time and demanded it. Ms. A said, "He kept pestering me, but I refused, saying we should consider the time and place," and added, "It’s not even our house, and we were in mourning." Ms. A continued, "Then my husband said he was going home. He said he had done enough and would take his things and leave," she said in disbelief.

Ms. A said, "The funeral is tomorrow, and the kids are going to attend as well, but I’m so stressed that my head is spinning again," and added, "Why can’t we just do it at our house on a normal day? It feels so immature and annoying." She concluded, "There have been many issues, and there was some positive progress as we were trying to restore our relationship, but now I feel like it’s impossible, and it’s so frustrating."

Netizens who read the story responded with outrage, saying things like, "He’s not an animal. He should know the time and place," "How can he act like that at his in-laws' house?" "He doesn’t consider his wife’s feelings or physical condition at all," "Even as a man, I find it disgusting," "What’s with sulking and going home?" "Sounds like a sexual deviant," "How can you live together after losing respect?" "I’d never want to do it again," and so on.

Meanwhile, even if a marital relationship is maintained, forcing unwanted sexual relations can be punished as rape. 'Marital rape' recently became a controversy after broadcaster Choi Dong-seok and Park Ji-yoon’s messenger conversations and recordings surfaced during their divorce process. According to the conversation revealed by a media outlet, Park Ji-yoon said, "He tried to assault me, tried to rape me," to which Choi Dong-seok replied, "Why? That’s something couples can do." Park Ji-yoon then pointed out to Choi Dong-seok, "Marital rape can be established even between spouses."
