Conducting Training to Strengthen On-Site Response Capability for Autumn Wildfires

This competition was conducted with the participation of about 200 people, including wildfire officers and specialized wildfire prevention and suppression team members from the cities and counties, in line with the autumn wildfire caution period when fires are more likely to occur.

The event was organized to improve the proficiency of the wildfire mechanization system, the main equipment for ground wildfire suppression used by the specialized wildfire prevention and suppression teams, and to strengthen capabilities in initial wildfire suppression and mop-up operations.

The competition was conducted by forming teams of 10 people from each city and county, connecting a fire suppression vehicle and hoses to a water tank located about 100 meters away, passing through a distributor, and measuring the time taken to supply water in the shortest possible time.

Seok Yong-hwan, Director of the Forest and Greenery Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “This competition has become an opportunity to further strengthen rapid wildfire response and prevention systems,” adding, “We will do our best to thoroughly carry out prevention, monitoring, and suppression activities during the autumn wildfire caution period to protect the lives and property of residents from wildfires.”
