Senator Rubio was born in 1971 in Miami, Florida, as the son of Cuban immigrants. He majored in political science at the University of Florida and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami. He worked at the West Miami City Hall before being elected as a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives in 2000, serving for 10 years. In 2010, he was elected to the Florida State Senate, becoming the youngest of 100 senators and gaining attention as a young politician leading the conservative movement in the U.S. Due to his youth and minority background, he was sometimes called the 'Republican Obama.'

During the 2016 presidential election, he competed with Trump and others for the nomination but withdrew after losing the Florida primary. Since Trump was selected as the Republican candidate in 2016, Rubio has supported him. He is now one of the loyalists defending President-elect Trump.

He has taken a hardline stance on foreign affairs and national security issues. He has argued that strong measures must be taken against elements threatening U.S. security. In particular, he emphasized that the U.S. must actively respond to China’s economic and military threats. Senator Rubio led the TikTok ban legislation and pushed for a bill to prohibit pension funds from investing in China.
