Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 7th that the remodeling construction of Haecham Neighborhood Park (area 1118, Geumgok-ri, Jinjeop-eup) and Baram Neighborhood Park (area 761, Dasan-dong) has been completed.
This remodeling was the first project selected in Namyangju City's neighborhood park remodeling initiative. The city replaced aging facilities in parks that had been established for over 15 years and transformed them into resident-friendly spaces.
Haecham Neighborhood Park is a mountainous park connected to the Cheolmasan hiking trail. Due to its proximity to an elementary school and frequent use by children, there was a high demand for playground and rest facilities.
Accordingly, the city installed three children's playground facilities, including a zipline and slides, at the park entrance, improved walking conditions by maintaining the walking trails, and created a barefoot walking path by paving with loess soil, making it a comfortable space for citizens of various age groups to enjoy.
Before remodeling Baram Neighborhood Park, the city gathered opinions from nearby residents and students, as well as feedback from resident briefings held last year and this year. During the remodeling process, requests for activity spaces for students and resting areas for parents were reflected, resulting in a rest and play space that can be used together by youth and families.
A city official stated, “We hope that the newly reborn Baram Neighborhood Park and Haecham Neighborhood Park will become healing spaces in the daily lives of citizens. Going forward, the city plans to continuously promote remodeling projects for other aging parks to further improve residents' living environments.”
