The Public Health Center of Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 7th that it operated a forest prenatal education class on the 6th for prospective parents in the area, providing psychological stability through the use of the five senses in the forest and encouraging emotional interaction with the fetus.
The 'Forest Prenatal Education Class,' held in nature away from daily life, consisted of △ forest gymnastics and cane games △ sensory healing through forest path walks △ healing foot baths △ making wooden keychains △ tea talks and sharing impressions.
In particular, various experiential activities utilizing elements such as the sounds of the forest, scents, and phytoncides provided pregnant women, who usually lack outdoor activities, with opportunities for physical activity through fresh air, receiving great responses from participants. One pregnant woman said, "It was a more meaningful experience because I could do prenatal education with my husband."
A Public Health Center official stated, "The health center continuously plans various lectures and programs for pregnant women, and we will strive to create an environment where citizens can participate with more interest and enthusiasm to make Dongducheon healthier and its citizens healthier."
