"Experience the Digital Twin Airport"... Korea Airports Corporation Participates in K-Geo Festa

Exhibition of In-House Developed BIM Technology

Korea Airports Corporation will exhibit Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology that digitally replicates actual airports.

On the 7th, Korea Airports Corporation announced that it will operate the 'KAC BIM Pavilion' until the 8th at the '2024 K-Geo Festa' held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do.

Through this, they plan to promote the BIM standard system, which is the world's first airport BIM international standard certification (ISO 19650), and the Gimpo Airport digital twin model utilizing BIM technology. Additionally, they will introduce airport BIM technology research and development, practical technology development and dissemination, quality management standardization, and BIM industry revitalization being promoted at the ‘KAC BIM Center,’ which was established in September as the first public institution.

Furthermore, a virtual reality experience zone of Ulleung Airport, scheduled to open in 2028, has been set up to allow visitors to directly experience digital twin technology.

Lee Jeong-gi, Acting President of Korea Airports Corporation, stated, "Based on our nationwide airport operation experience and proprietary BIM technology capabilities, the corporation will strive to advance the domestic BIM industry."
