Adjusted to 140% or below of median income
Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it has expanded the eligibility for dementia treatment and medication support from those with a median income of 120% or less to those with 140% or less.
Dementia treatment management costs provide support for dementia medical expenses and medication costs up to 30,000 KRW per month, with a maximum annual limit of 360,000 KRW.
The eligible individuals are residents aged 60 or older who are registered and living in Naju City, have been diagnosed with dementia, and have a median income of 140% or less.
If taking dementia medication, applicants can apply at the Naju City Public Health Center Dementia Safety Center with documents such as an ID card, a bankbook in their name, a prescription, a detailed statement of treatment costs, and a medication cost invoice. After qualification screening, they can receive support for treatment and medication costs.
As of the end of October this year, the Dementia Safety Center has supported a total of 4,395 cases with 280 million KRW in dementia treatment and medication costs.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “Through the expansion of dementia treatment support, we hope to alleviate the economic burden on patients and their families, improve symptoms through early treatment, and enable them to lead stable lives.”
