Guri City Family Center Operates Employment Support Capacity Building Program for Marriage Immigrants

The Guri City Family Center in Gyeonggi Province (Director Yoon Sung-eun) announced on the 7th that it has been operating employment and vocational training programs since May to help marriage immigrants successfully adapt to Korean society and achieve economic independence.

The program consists of five handicraft certification courses, including 6 sessions of 36 hours of vocational etiquette education, 6 sessions of 36 hours of workshop startup special lectures, 8 sessions of 48 hours of macrame certification training, 6 sessions of 36 hours of leather craft certification training, and field trips, job fairs, and startup (workshop) experiences. In total, the program runs for 30 sessions and 170 hours, culminating in the graduation of 13 participants this December.


The city plans to continue supporting successful social integration through capacity-building programs tailored to the needs and characteristics of marriage immigrants, including training marriage immigrants for employment in public institutions and operating the Women’s Happiness Center’s Happy Market multi-workshop space as an incubation space for employment and entrepreneurship.


Baek Kyung-hyun, Mayor of Guri City, stated, “Through employment support education and training for marriage immigrants in Guri City, we will help them achieve economic independence and stable settlement, secure diversity in our society, and strive further to achieve social integration.”
