Clobot Signs Supply Contract for Quadruped Robot 'SPOT' with Incheon International Airport Corporation and Boston Dynamics

Clobot announced on the 7th that it has been selected as the final project executor and signed a contract for Incheon International Airport Corporation’s ‘Quadruped Robot Purchase and Installation Project’ by utilizing SPOT, a quadruped robot from Boston Dynamics, with whom it has a strategic partnership.

Incheon International Airport Corporation aims to achieve digital transformation by integrating quadruped robots capable of performing tasks in various environments such as slopes and stairs mixed with obstacles into airport operations through this purchase and installation project. The project will support safety management of key facilities such as underground utility tunnels and patrol duties around the airport perimeter using quadruped robots. It will also provide passenger services through interaction with airport users.

Kim Chang-gu, CEO of Clobot, stated, “This project is valued at 1 billion KRW and will serve as an opportunity to maximize the safety and efficiency of airport operations by introducing cutting-edge robotic technology to Incheon International Airport.” He added, “We take pride in presenting a new paradigm for domestic airport operations through cooperation with Boston Dynamics. Above all, we expect that this can be expanded and applied to other airports as well.”

Boston Dynamics’ SPOT offers autonomous navigation across various terrains based on its unique mobility, enabling smooth surveillance and patrol missions even in complex airport environments. Through the introduction of SPOT, Clobot plans to conduct efficient autonomous patrols and hazard detection within the airport, collecting real-time video and data to create a safer airport environment.

Through this project, Clobot aims to further strengthen its competitiveness in the intelligent robot service sector and expand innovative robot-based services across various public infrastructures, including airports.
