Establishing Organizational Culture for Family-Friendly Management
Gu Bon-jun, chairman of LX Group, gave 100 million won to an employee who had quadruplets.
According to LX Holdings on the 7th, Chairman Gu presented 100 million won in childbirth congratulatory money to Jeong Jae-ryong, a senior member of the Cheongju Purchasing Team at LX Hausys, and his spouse, who had quadruplets on the 6th. The couple gave birth to quadruplets on September 13. The quadruplets received care from medical staff in incubators in the neonatal intensive care unit and all returned home healthy with their family in mid-last month.
Along with the childbirth congratulatory money, Chairman Gu said, "I sincerely congratulate you on becoming the father and mother of the lovely quadruplets," and added, "I wish for the health of the quadruplets who will grow up as a great joy to the family, and I look forward to their vigorous and bright growth journey."
It is reported that Chairman Gu has been aware of the seriousness of the low birthrate issue and has been contemplating ways for companies to take the lead in overcoming it. With this childbirth congratulatory money delivery as a starting point, LX Group is expected to actively initiate institutional improvements related to childbirth and childcare, as well as establish a family-friendly organizational culture.
An LX Group official stated, "This is an important time to create social consensus on improving awareness and the importance of pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare," and added, "LX Group will also join the business community's active efforts to solve the low birthrate problem."
Meanwhile, LX Hausys separately paid 50 million won as childbirth congratulatory money. Senior Jeong said, "I am still overwhelmed but truly happy to receive unexpected great congratulations from Chairman Gu Bon-jun and many members within the company," and added, "The quadruplets are a miracle and a blessing to us, and since we have received much congratulations and attention from many people, we will raise them healthily going forward."
