T Scientific Collaborates with Yonsei University on AI-Based Privacy Protection Research... "GS Certification in Progress for Utilization"

Professor Hansem Kim's research team at Yonsei University and the T Scientific Corporate Research Institute announced on the 7th that they published a paper on 'Privacy Protection Using Artificial Intelligence (AI)' through joint research on the 30th of last month.

This study is the result of the project 'R&D on Enhanced Privacy Technologies: Development of AI-based Personal Information Detection and De-identification Technologies in Conversational Text Data,' supported by the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency. T Scientific is the lead organization for this project, collaborating with Yonsei University, World Vertex, and I'm Cloud.

Recently, concerns about information leakage have increased due to the rapid rise in online social media usage and the growth of online information. In particular, for the Korean language, technological advancements have been relatively slow compared to languages like English or Chinese, which have smaller user populations.

Accordingly, the paper includes ▲establishing a classification system for Korean Personally Identifiable Information (PII) ▲building a large-scale Korean PII dataset ▲evaluating various language models for Korean PII processing capabilities ▲and stimulating discussions on the advancement of privacy protection technologies.

Lee Jong-gyu, head of research at T Scientific and the overall project PM, said, “We hope that sharing the research results supported by the government in the form of a paper will contribute to the systematic analysis of Korean in the field of privacy protection research in our country,” adding, “For practical application of these research results, we are currently undergoing GS (Good Software) certification under the product name ‘P3R for AI.’”

Meanwhile, the Korean Language Resources Laboratory at Yonsei University, which led the writing of this paper, is actively conducting research on building Korean corpora across various domains and evaluating AI language capabilities.
