POSCO announced on the 7th that it has made information available on its product website allowing consumers to easily identify POSCO brand-sharing partners at a glance.
POSCO Brand Sharing is a system that allows customer companies to use the 'Steel by POSCO' trademark on products made using 100% POSCO steel.
Since 2019, POSCO has planned and operated the brand-sharing system to ensure that origin information of materials closely related to consumers' health and hygiene, such as water pipes and kitchenware, is transparently and accurately conveyed to consumers.
POSCO currently maintains agreements with a total of 15 customer companies, including Boram Steel, CNT Korea, Korea Clad Tech, which manufacture kitchenware; Daedong Firefighting, Changseong Industry, Oil Metal, which produce fire extinguishers; and EF Korea, which manufactures pipes. Only these 15 companies listed on the website have officially valid brand-sharing agreements with POSCO.
POSCO expects that through the expansion of the brand-sharing system, it can promote the sales of 'Made in Korea' products with clear material sources and product manufacturers, contribute to enhancing the brand competitiveness of small and medium-sized customers, and thereby create a stronger domestic manufacturing industry ecosystem. Furthermore, imported materials from China, Indonesia, and Vietnam are sometimes disguised and sold as POSCO products. This system is expected to prevent damage to customer companies using POSCO products and to end consumers.
Kim Kwang-hoon, CEO of Boram Steel, a participant in the POSCO Brand Sharing program, stated, "In a challenging market flooded with low-priced, low-quality imported materials, collaborating with POSCO to use domestically produced products verified in terms of quality, environment, and safety has increased customer trust and led to expanded sales."
Lee Kyung-jin, Head of POSCO Stainless Marketing Office, added, "Through POSCO's brand-sharing system, we will strive to build a healthy co-growth ecosystem with customer companies and achieve strengthened competitiveness and sustainable growth for small and medium-sized enterprises."
Small and medium-sized customer companies wishing to participate in POSCO's brand-sharing program are always welcome. Any customer using 100% POSCO steel can consult with POSCO at any time about concluding a brand-sharing agreement.
