Mediazen Registers Patent for PK-PD Prediction System of New Drug Substances

Mediazen announced on the 7th that it has registered a patent for a new drug substance PK-PD prediction system called the ‘Universal PK-PD Prediction Model-Based New Drug Substance PK-PD Prediction System’.

This patent is a system that creates a universal PK-PD prediction model by learning existing preclinical and clinical data, and can predict the effects of new drugs on healthy individuals and patients through virtual clinical trials. This allows the efficacy of new drugs to be predicted in advance before clinical trials during the drug development process. The main features include a necessary information extraction unit (100) and a PK-PD prediction unit (200), maximizing efficiency through data-driven forecasting in the new drug development stage.

A Mediazen representative said, “With this patent registration, we have established a foundation to significantly improve the efficiency of new drug development,” adding, “Especially by reducing the costly and time-consuming clinical trial phase, innovative new drug development will become possible.”

Meanwhile, in September last year, Mediazen jointly registered a patent with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) for an AI-based ‘New Drug Candidate Substance Information Generation Device.’ This technology is used to enhance the efficiency of new drug development by analyzing the structure and dynamics information of disease-related proteins.
