From 7 PM at Gangseo Community Center Ujang Hall
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will hold a special lecture on balanced urban development titled ‘The Space of the Republic of Korea’ on the 12th.
This special lecture will feature architect Yoo Hyun-joon as the speaker and will take place at the Gangseo-gu Community Center Ujang Hall starting at 7 PM. Any interested residents can enter on a first-come, first-served basis from 6:30 PM.
In this lecture, architect Yoo will present the development process of urban spaces along with a new spatial paradigm. In particular, he will look into Korean society through the lens of space and explain two events where spatial revolutions occurred.
Architect Yoo is the principal architect of Yoo Hyun-joon Architects, a professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Hongik University, and the vice chairman of the International Culture and Arts Committee of the Korean Institute of Architects. He is a well-known expert to the public through his numerous publications, including ‘The Future of Space,’ and his broadcasting activities.
This special lecture is designed as an opportunity to think about the future cities we will live in from a macro perspective. Meanwhile, in July, the district established a ‘Balanced Development Promotion Team’ at the bureau level to systematically and comprehensively promote regional balanced development.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “This lecture was planned to present new perspectives on the meaning and direction of change in urban spaces in a rapidly changing future society,” adding, “I hope these diverse perspectives will positively contribute to promoting regional balanced development, and I ask for the residents’ active interest and participation.”
