Mayor Lee stated, “On the 5th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced plans to lift development restrictions in four areas of the metropolitan area to supply housing. In Goyang City, this includes 1.99 million square meters of greenbelt areas near Daegok Station, such as Daejang-dong, Naegok-dong, Todang-dong, Hwajeong-dong, and Jugyo-dong.” He emphasized, “The city plans to promote the ‘Goyang Daegok Station Area Knowledge Convergence Complex Development Project’ targeting the greenbelt release areas in connection with this.”

He added, “Daegok Station is a station where five rail lines pass through: GTX-A, Subway Line 3 (Ilsan Line), Gyeongui-Jungang Line, Seohae Line, and Gyoe Line. It is adjacent to major road networks such as the Metropolitan Area 1st Ring Road, Jayu-ro, and Seoul-Munsan Expressway, making its transportation conditions excellent.” He said, “The city intends to minimize the residential development ratio to around 20% and focus on strengthening self-sufficient functions centered around the station area.”

Mayor Lee said, “We plan to designate a 20,000-pyeong (approximately 66,115 square meters) urban high-tech industrial complex within the self-sufficient land and strive to have it designated as a Special Opportunity Development Zone where companies receive exceptional incentives.” He added, “Since the Daegok station area has been restricted from development for decades due to development limitations, we will proceed smoothly with the complex transfer center and self-sufficient specialized complex to make Goyang Special City a premium self-sufficient city.”

Mayor Lee then received a report on the current status of major collective civil complaints recently occurring and reviewed future plans.

He stated, “For policies or issues sensitive to residents, an appropriate response system must be established from the policy formulation stage, accompanied by sufficient dialogue and communication.”

Mayor Lee said, “For solvable complaints, we should actively seek optimal alternatives. For issues spanning multiple departments, efficient solutions should be found through collaboration without barriers and a sharing system. If a complaint is judged to be difficult to resolve due to objectively unreasonable laws and regulations, I ask that you actively propose legislative amendments to the government or National Assembly.”
