Generative AI startup FortyTwoMaru announced on the 6th that it has become the first company in Korea to obtain AI reliability certification for a generative AI-based large language model (LLM).
The AI reliability certification system is operated by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA) to enhance the reliability and competitiveness of domestic AI companies. It evaluates AI models and systems to verify whether they have established AI governance frameworks, transparency, accountability, and other criteria.
FortyTwoMaru's lightweight LLM model, 'LLM42,' obtained certification after undergoing evaluation on 11 detailed reliability requirements, including accountability, safety, transparency, and respect for diversity. The company is developing and servicing LLM42, specialized for professional industrial fields, by mitigating the hallucination issues typical of LLMs through search-augmented generation technology RAG42 and AI reading comprehension technology MRC42.
Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of FortyTwoMaru, said, "It is meaningful that LLM42 has become the first LLM in Korea to obtain AI reliability certification," adding, "Through this certification, we will continuously adhere to AI reliability requirements and provide safer and more trustworthy AI services."
