On the 7th at 7:55 a.m., the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul sent 20-year-old woman Kim to the prosecution under custody on charges including hit-and-run causing injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes and violation of the Road Traffic Act (driving without a license). When reporters asked Kim questions such as "Why did you drive without a license?" and "Do you have anything to say to the victims?", she repeatedly responded in a soft voice, "I'm sorry," before boarding the escort vehicle.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, around 1 p.m., Kim drove her mother's car without a driver's license and hit a woman in her 30s pushing a stroller with her 4-year-old son on a side street in Geoyeo-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, then fled the scene. Later, around 1:39 p.m., Kim was caught in the act after repeatedly colliding with vehicles and driving against traffic on Teheran-ro in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu. As a result of the accident, nine people sustained minor injuries, and a total of eight vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, were damaged.
During the police investigation, Kim stated that she had been taking sedatives due to symptoms of insomnia, and it is known that she never obtained a driver's license.
The police have secured Kim's blood and sedatives and have requested a detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service.
