Community Merchants and Residents Unite... Nanjang and Yeheung Festival
On the 6th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the ‘Damidam Noljang(場)’, a place for harmony among local merchants and residents, in the Damju Damidam Art District from the 15th to the 16th.
This year’s event will be centered around the Damju Art District and organized by the Damju Art District Council to revitalize the commercial area, bringing together resident artists, local merchants, residents, and tourists.
More than 50 merchants, including small business owners, will operate a flea market and food stalls. The event, themed ‘Retro,’ will feature hands-on experiences, exhibitions, and performances involving local artists, making it enjoyable for people of all ages. Additionally, during the event, traditional childhood games such as tug-of-war and ttakji-chi (Korean paper tile game) will be held, with winners receiving local specialty products and coupons redeemable during the event as prizes.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to revitalize the old downtown commercial district amid the difficult situation caused by high inflation,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create a happy and self-reliant economic city for all.”
