The 'Korean Peninsula Peace Sharing Forum' has been held annually since its launch in 2016 to reflect on the mission the Church must undertake amid over 80 years of division between North and South Korea. This year's forum theme is 'Journey Toward Peace.'
The forum is expected to be attended by the archbishop, related experts, and clergy members.
The forum consists of three sessions in total. The first session will feature presentations by Dr. Justenhoven, a German lay peace theologian, and Dr. Franchioni from the Catholic international relief organization Sant'Egidio, who has experience in exchanges with North Korea.
The second session will include research analyzing how Catholic media have covered Korean Peninsula issues using text mining techniques, as well as a survey conducted by the Peace Sharing Institute on Korean clergy regarding 'peace and reconciliation.'
The final third session will be held with the youth mentor-mentee group 'Ddiatmeori,' formed by the Korean Martyrs Clergy Religious Order to support the settlement of North Korean defectors. It will be a peace talk concert where young people from both North and South Korea share conversations together.
Now in its 9th year, the 'Korean Peninsula Peace Sharing Forum' is open to anyone interested, who can attend by applying in advance.
