When Mr. A’s wife asked for help, saying "My husband is not breathing," Chief Kim immediately laid Mr. A on the floor and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Then, together with other passengers, they moved Mr. A to the platform at Juan Station, and one passenger called 119. Upon receiving the situation report from the fire authorities, the Incheon Transit Corporation’s comprehensive control center informed the station staff at Juan Station about the emergency patient.

Chief Kim continuously monitored Mr. A’s condition while using the automated external defibrillator (AED) provided by the station staff. Mr. A regained consciousness shortly thereafter and was transported to the hospital by the 119 emergency medical team that arrived on the scene. It is known that Mr. A’s life is currently not in danger. Chief Kim said, "As an employee of a public transportation corporation operating the subway, it was something I naturally had to do," adding, "Thanks to the help of those around me, we were able to save a precious life."

Netizens who heard the news responded with various comments such as, "The calm response of the employee saved a precious life," "There should be mandatory training on how to perform CPR," "Applause for the wonderful employee," "You will be blessed," and "It is admirable to see citizens coming together to save a life."

Meanwhile, Incheon Transit Corporation provides CPR and AED usage training to all employees every year, and using the AEDs installed in 70 stations on Incheon Lines 1 and 2, they have saved five emergency patients this year.
