At the signing ceremony, key officials including Seo Taewon, Mayor of Gapyeong-gun, Je Haejong, President of Samyook University, and Kim Jongsung, Vice Chairman of the Gapyeong County Council, attended and agreed to cooperate in attracting outstanding foreign talent.

The 'region-specific visa project' is a pilot project officially implemented this year by the Ministry of Justice. It grants special visa privileges (over 5 years) to foreigners needed in the region on the condition of mandatory residence and employment for a certain period, aiming to encourage long-term settlement in the local community and thereby revitalize the regional economy.

Through this cooperation agreement, Gapyeong-gun plans to invigorate the local economy by attracting outstanding foreign talent and strengthening connections with local businesses to promote population inflow.

Mayor Seo Taewon said, "The region-specific visa project has opened a path for excellent foreigners to reside and work in Gapyeong-gun for an extended period," adding, "We will do our best to promote the project so that the local economy can be further revitalized through a virtuous cycle structure of expanding the resident population, stimulating local economic activities, and increasing population inflow."
