About 20 people, including the task force for the ‘Single-Person Household Package Care Service Pilot Project’ and advisory and cooperative organizations, attended this performance sharing meeting.

The ‘Single-Person Household Package Care Service Pilot Project’ is a project conducted by the social enterprises ‘Gamdong CLEAN Cooperative’ and ‘Raonatti Co., Ltd.’, which were selected as service providers under the ‘2024 Cooperative Collaboration Support Project’ led by the Gyeonggi Social Economy Center. This project aims to discover and foster cooperative collaboration models for local social service provision to enhance social service competitiveness and establish a growth foundation.

From May to October, they provided housing environment improvements and care services to a total of 10 middle-aged single-person households in Okjeong 2-dong to alleviate social isolation and build social networks.

At the performance sharing meeting, proposals were made regarding the necessity of establishing a dense cooperative system among various local stakeholders such as social economy enterprises, welfare institutions, administration, and universities to solve regional problems, as well as expanding customized services according to the needs of each target group.

In the second part of the event, a win-win business agreement was signed between two social enterprises providing social services, Yangju Okjeong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center (Director Chae Jeong-seon), and Yangju Infinite Care Hope Center (Center Director Na Gyu-pil) to revitalize local social services. They aimed to promote mutual development through service provision by social economy enterprises and welfare enhancement for local residents.

Choi Myung-sook, director of Gamdong CLEAN Cooperative, the pilot project organizer, said, “Through this project, we carefully examined the various problems faced by middle-aged single-person households and provided services, which gave us an opportunity to reconsider the role social enterprises should play in the community.”

She added, “Thanks to the cooperation of the pilot project task force, Raonatti Co., Ltd., the Okjeong 2-dong Community Security Council, Yangju Okjeong Millennium Tree Complex 16 Residential Happiness Support Center, and Yangju Social Economy Support Center over the past six months, we were able to achieve this much.”
