Vice Chairman Song Jong-min Attends Opening Ceremony... Communicates with Clients
Daehan Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. unveiled a large number of its main products, including offshore wind power solutions and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable systems, at Korea's largest power exhibition, "BIXPO 2024 (Bitgaram International Power Technology Expo)." Daehan Electric Wire & Cable announced that it participated in BIXPO 2024, held for three days from the 6th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju. Hosted annually by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), BIXPO is an event showcasing new technologies and related products in the power and energy sectors. This year, over 200 domestic and international companies participated.
At the exhibition, Daehan Electric Wire & Cable set up booths themed around offshore wind power solutions, HVDC systems, aging transmission network replacement solutions, and eco-friendly power equipment. The company showcased a wide range of key products supplied globally and strategic products. It also exhibited research and development (R&D) achievements, including new power sector construction methods jointly developed with KEPCO.
At the center of the booth, the offshore wind power solution theme was placed to emphasize the company's capabilities covering the entire value chain of submarine cables, including design, production, transportation, construction, and maintenance. Models of submarine cables and the only domestic offshore wind power cable laying vessel (CLV), "Pharos," were displayed. Plans for investment in a submarine cable factory were also revealed.
Additionally, the company introduced the latest technologies such as the 500-kilovolt (kV) current-type HVDC land cable system and the 525 kV voltage-type HVDC land cable system, both developed for the first time in Korea.

Vice Chairman Song visited the site and toured the exhibition hall with executives and employees from the energy sector and technology research institute, communicating with customers and business partners.
Vice Chairman Song said, "It is very meaningful to showcase our renewable energy, high-efficiency main products, and new technologies to domestic and international customers through the exhibition," adding, "We will strengthen our R&D capabilities and expand global competitiveness to lead future trends in the power and energy industry."
