The Dapsari Garden by the Imjingang River in Jung-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province is emerging as a representative tourist attraction of Yeoncheon.
According to Yeoncheon-gun on the 6th, the number of visitors to the Jung-myeon Imjingang Dapsari Garden this year was recorded at 201,928. This is a 22% increase compared to about 164,000 visitors last year. The Jung-myeon Imjingang Dapsari Garden has now truly become a representative tourist attraction of the region.
This achievement is especially meaningful as it was accomplished despite a 33% decrease in visitors compared to last year due to the heatwave caused by abnormal temperatures in September and the Chuseok holiday. In particular, continuous rain in July and the heatwave from August to September caused difficulties in drainage. Additionally, the abnormal climate severely hindered the growth of flowers and plants, but thanks to the efforts of Jung-myeon staff and residents, all adverse conditions were overcome to achieve this result.
The chairman of the Jung-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee said, “We are grateful to the tourists who visited the Dapsari Garden this year. We especially extend deep thanks to the local residents and nearby farmers who endured and cooperated despite the inconveniences during the busy farming season.” He added, “Next year, we will develop the Dapsari Garden with a newer appearance.”
Meanwhile, the Jung-myeon Imjingang Dapsari Garden was open for two months from September to October.
