Guidelines Established for Interfloor Noise Blocking Installation
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province is institutionalizing the participation of prospective residents in supervision to resolve defects in apartment construction. It will also present construction guidelines to block noise between floors.
Hwaseong City announced on the 6th that it will implement the 'Prospective Resident Participation Supervision Reporting System' and the 'Floor Impact Sound Insulation Construction Guideline' to improve the quality of apartment construction.
Previously, in 2021, the city established the 'Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Apartment Quality Inspection Team,' forming the 'Apartment Quality Inspection Team' composed of private experts in architecture, civil engineering, electrical, mechanical, and fire safety fields to strengthen apartment quality inspections. However, as complaints about poor quality management, including large-scale defects in newly built apartments, have increased recently, the city explained that it has supplemented the system accordingly.
The newly established 'Prospective Resident Participation Supervision Reporting System' is a system that allows supervision companies to explain the contents of their supervision work to prospective residents and respond to their inquiries.
Along with this, to resolve residents' discomfort and conflicts caused by noise between floors and to create a pleasant living environment, the city plans to strengthen on-site management through systematic supervision by establishing the 'Floor Impact Sound Insulation Construction Guideline' to reduce noise between floors from the apartment design stage.
Jung Yeon-song, Director of the Housing Policy Division of Hwaseong City, said, "If this quality management system is applied to housing construction sites, trust in the quality of apartments will increase," and added, "We will continuously promote and implement the system to ensure its smooth establishment."
