Professor Yang Seung-hoon of the Department of Hotel Medical Tourism Management at Silla University, Best Paper Award at the Convergence Tourism Contents Society Academic Conference

Shilla University (President Heo Nam-sik) announced on the 6th that Professor Yang Seung-hoon of the Department of Hotel Medical Tourism Management received the Best Paper Award at the ‘2024 7th Convergence Tourism Contents Society Academic Conference’.

The ‘2024 7th Convergence Tourism Contents Society Academic Conference,’ held from the 1st to the 2nd in Gochang, Jeonbuk, was conducted under the theme of ‘A New Paradigm of Healing Cultural Tourism.’

Professor Yang Seung-hoon of Shilla University, in collaboration with Professor Moon Bo-young of Eulji University, presented a joint research paper titled ‘Gochang Healing Cultural City: Big Data Network Analysis,’ earning the honor of the Best Paper Award.

Professor Yang expressed his gratitude, saying, “This award is a great personal honor, and I will continue to connect healing tourism with regional development through theoretical frameworks.”

This academic conference featured programs such as △ Pansori narration and tea ceremony experience provided by the Gochang Cultural City Center △ Exploration of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Dolmen △ Exploration of Ungok Ramsar Wetlands, along with sharing various policy and project ideas aligned with the theme of ‘A New Paradigm of Healing Cultural Tourism.’

Moon Bo-young, President of the Convergence Tourism Contents Society, stated, “We are focusing on the legal cultural city projects that integrate regional development and the tourism industry,” adding, “Following last year’s conference in Gongju, Chungnam, this year’s academic conference was held in Gochang, Jeonbuk, with the theme of healing.”
