On the 6th, Kim Daehyun, head of Samsung Research's Global AI Center, stated in a contribution to the Samsung Electronics Newsroom, "AI is a core technology that will change the paradigm of our era, following the internet revolution and the mobile revolution."

Kim said, "The future that AI will bring is an important topic for Samsung Electronics," adding, "We will lead a new era with AI that anyone can easily access and utilize in daily life."

Samsung Electronics is integrating AI into various products and services such as smartphones, TVs, and home appliances to realize the vision of 'AI for everyone.'

Kim presented generative AI, operational technology, and security technology as innovation measures for personalized AI in everyday life.

He said, "Samsung Electronics is discovering and optimizing generative AI functions that make Samsung products and services more useful," adding, "We will provide new experiences with generative AI that creates original results according to user demands, not just simple data processing and analysis."

In particular, Samsung plans to develop knowledge graph technology, one of the key technologies of personalized AI, and organically connect it with generative AI to support user-customized services. A knowledge graph is a technology that represents related information in the form of interconnected graphs.

Earlier, Samsung Electronics, led by Samsung Research, acquired the UK startup 'Oxford Semantic Technologies' (OST), which possesses world-class foundational knowledge graph technology, in July.

He also revealed that hybrid AI is being applied to enhance personalized experiences and usability. Hybrid AI is a technology that uses both on-device AI and cloud AI to provide a balanced combination of speed and security.

For example, 'Galaxy AI,' the world's first AI applied to mobile devices, is implemented to utilize on-device AI and cloud AI environments separately or simultaneously according to the technical requirements of each function.

Security for AI services is also being strengthened, including the development of the security solution 'Knox Matrix.'

Kim said, "Samsung Electronics prioritizes personal information protection and security in AI development," adding, "We plan to expand application to home appliances following mobile devices and TVs."

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is participating in the National AI Committee, launched in September, and is working with the government to strengthen national AI competitiveness.
