Samil PwC, Seminar on 'Beyond Climate Change: New Challenges and Response Directions for Businesses'

Samil PwC announced on the 6th that it will hold a seminar titled "Beyond Climate Change: New Challenges and Response Directions for Companies" at 2 p.m. on the 25th at Amore Hall on the 2nd floor of its headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

This seminar is organized to review global trends related to corporate sustainability and to discuss in detail the establishment of company-specific strategies for new corporate challenges such as biodiversity, circular economy, and supply chain management.


Will Jackson Moore, PwC Global Sustainability Leader and keynote speaker, will present the latest global sustainability trends including the outcomes discussed at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29), the preparation status of CSRD within the EU, resource circulation, and biodiversity.


In the first topic presentation session, Jin-gyu Lee, Partner at Samil PwC, will jointly introduce the preparation status of CSRD disclosures by EU companies with Alexander Spek, Partner and leader of the EU CSRD Center. Partner Kyung-sang Park will explain domestic and international trends and corporate response measures related to "Natural Capital and Biodiversity," and Partner Bo-hwa Lee will discuss the international plastic treaty. In the final session, Young-chang Yoon, PwC Consulting Partner, will present on measures to respond to supply chain regulations.


Steven Kang, Sustainability Platform Leader, stated, "ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) regulations are expanding not only in carbon reduction and sustainability disclosure obligations but also in supply chain management. International interest and movements regarding sustainability remain strong, with progress in agreements on biodiversity protection and plastic reduction." He added, "We hope this seminar will help accurately understand new directions related to sustainability and assist companies in establishing their strategies."
