AppMedia develops and provides 'application (app) books' for Korean language learning in countries with high demand for Korean language education such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. App books are regarded as next-generation educational tools because they reduce carbon emissions by minimizing paper use and provide equitable educational opportunities.
The Department of Global Korean Studies at Sahmyook University trains Hallyu media content creators and Korean language education experts. Its graduate program includes students from various countries such as Japan, T?rkiye, China, and Vietnam.
In this agreement, the Department of Global Korean Studies and AppMedia promised to cooperate in areas such as joint research and exchange for educational service development, providing field training and employment opportunities, and sharing infrastructure for mutual development.
As the first step in implementing the agreement, AppMedia plans to prepare an in-house research space that can be utilized by students of the Department of Global Korean Studies. In this space, content translation and interpretation as well as the development of Korean language teaching and learning theories will take place.
Park Seong-hoon, CEO of AppMedia, said, “I am pleased to be able to collaborate with foreign students who are familiar with local overseas situations,” and added, “We will strive harder to advance app book content in the global publishing market.”
Yoon Jin-han, head of the Startup Incubation Center at Sahmyook University, stated, “We will actively support leading the next generation of global Korean language textbook publishing through the cooperation between tenant company AppMedia and our university’s Department of Global Korean Studies.”
