Gangbuk-gu Publishes Collection of Best Practices and Experience Essays on Public-Private Integrated Case Management

Posting on Homepage, Distribution to Public and Welfare Institutions

Several years ago, Kim Mo (50), who had severed ties with his family due to conflicts and suffered from garbage accumulation, depression, and financial difficulties, showed a lack of confidence and a withdrawn demeanor, saying, "It's hard. I don't know what to do."

The former integrated case manager assisted Kim by coordinating cleaning efforts in cooperation with various departments and linking him to medical expense support for depression treatment. Kim expressed his will to regain a healthy life, saying, "So many people who are not even family are helping me like this, so I will try to live well with a renewed heart."

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Sunhee) recently published the 2024 Integrated Case Management Best Practices and Experience Collection titled "Hope Built Together, Warm Stories That Empower."

Integrated case management is a project that provides comprehensive linkage and delivery of necessary services such as welfare, health, employment, housing, education, and legal support to individuals with complex and diverse needs through a system that manages and supports public and private resources within the community. It offers necessary support to clients through continuous counseling and monitoring.

The collection has been published since 2018 to share the work and welfare resources of related organizations and to secure diverse perspectives on case management to enhance understanding of the work.

The collection includes various cases involving not only the Hope Welfare Support Team within the district office but also community service centers, public health centers, and private welfare organizations, along with the status of welfare institutions within Gangbuk-gu.

The district office posted this collection on its official website and distributed it to public institutions such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Seoul City, autonomous districts, and local welfare organizations. It is expected to increase residents' understanding and accessibility to welfare services, widely promote community welfare activities, and provide various cases to officials to assist their work.

District Mayor Lee Sunhee said, "This collection is the fruit of efforts made by various departments and welfare organizations," adding, "I hope you will meet the neighbors who have overcome difficult situations and changed through the warm stories in the best practices and experience collection."
