The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) and three major allies?South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand?expressed serious concerns on the 5th (local time) through a joint statement about the possibility of North Korean troops participating in the Ukraine war.
According to major foreign media, the foreign ministers said in the joint statement that day, "North Korea's direct support for Russia's invasion war in Ukraine not only shows Russia's desperate efforts to offset its losses but also dangerously escalates the conflict."
They also "condemn in the strongest possible terms" the expanded military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. This includes Russia's illegal procurement of North Korean ballistic missiles, they stated.
The foreign ministers expressed deep concern about the possibility of nuclear or ballistic missile-related technology being transferred to North Korea and conveyed their intention to cooperate with international partners for a coordinated response.
In addition to the G7 member countries?the United States, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Canada?South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand participated in this joint statement.
