November 8-10: 1st Redroad Road Gallery Exhibition at Hongdae Redroad R5
Featuring 78 works by 40 artists and a variety of art experiences for all ages
Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Kang-su) will hold the "1st Red Road Road Gallery Exhibition," full of exhibitions, experiences, and performance art, centered around the Red Road Road Gallery at Hongdae Red Road R5, for three days from November 8 to 10.
The "Red Road Road Gallery" is a street art museum that anyone can enjoy. To expand exhibition opportunities for artists and revitalize street art, Mapo-gu has expanded the exhibition frames from 20 panels last year to 48 panels this year.
The exhibition space will be arranged into an opening ceremony stage, exhibition zone, and experience zone. After the opening ceremony on the first day, the stage will be transformed into a plaza-style art experience zone to offer visitors a richer cultural and artistic program.
The opening ceremony, marking the successful start of the exhibition, will be hosted by KBS weathercaster Lee Seol-ah and will begin at 4 PM on November 8.
In the exhibition zone, 78 works by 40 artists will be displayed, divided into painting, design, and specialized fields. Additionally, to help visitors easily understand the works, key artists and professional docents will be assigned by area, and QR code banners for viewing catalogs will be installed in each zone for visitors who wish to quietly appreciate the artworks.
This exhibition is composed not only of artwork viewing but also of more than 20 diverse art experience activities so that people of all ages can enjoy culture and art.
In the booth-type experience zone, visitors can participate in various drawing and crafting activities such as "Making Christmas Mobiles with Coffee Filters," "Making Calligraphy Bookmarks," "Art Drawing with Artists," and "Passerby Impression Croquis Workshop." Additionally, a "Non-figurative Western Painting Drawing" performance will be held to captivate exhibition visitors.
The plaza-style art experience zone will provide corrugated cardboard and paper canvases so that anyone can freely express their thoughts and feelings, and two large trusses will be installed to create an artwork that everyone can participate in.
Mapo-gu expects the "Red Road Road Gallery Exhibition" to be an opportunity to revitalize street art and expand the activity range of artists.
Park Kang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "'Red Road Road Gallery' is a street art museum designed so that anyone visiting Red Road can easily access artworks without having to spend time and money visiting an art museum," adding, "Through this exhibition held around the Red Road Road Gallery area, we hope artists promote their works extensively and visitors fully enjoy cultural life in their daily lives."
