Strengthening Safety Accident Prevention Education
After the College Scholastic Ability Test on the 14th, elementary, middle, and high school students will have a flexible curriculum to use the year-end period as a time for self-development. Additionally, to protect students from various safety accidents during this period, school and off-campus life guidance will be strengthened, and a cross-ministerial safety network will be established.
On the 5th, the Ministry of Education announced these details through the "Year-End Academic Operation and Student Safety Support Plan for Elementary, Middle, and High Schools." The Ministry will allow students nationwide to utilize various customized programs both inside and outside school for self-development, considering the characteristics of the year-end period. Attending school classes is the principle, and decisions such as attending private academies for practical skills, interviews, and essay exams preparation, or unapproved experiential learning activities will not be recognized.
To this end, cross-ministerial educational programs will be discovered and distributed, and each metropolitan and provincial office of education will establish detailed operation and support plans. Next month, excellent cases of year-end educational activities will be identified by each metropolitan and provincial office of education and spread nationwide.

As activities increase, safety accident prevention education and life guidance will also be strengthened. The Ministry of Education will operate a "Student Safety Special Period" from the 14th of this month to the 31st of next month, establishing a cooperative system with related ministries and metropolitan and provincial offices of education. During these two months, schools will conduct education to raise students' safety awareness and prevent accidents according to their own plans. The offices of education will focus on education and guidance, while the Ministry of Education will strengthen supervision and inspection.
Especially this year, considering the seriousness of social issues such as drugs, online gambling, and deepfakes, related prevention education programs will be provided. In addition, various self-development and career experience activities reflecting the characteristics of central ministries and agencies, such as youth employment and labor education for young adults, will be offered to support the operation of curriculum and creative experiential activities.
Along with this, excellent cases of year-end curricula operated by metropolitan and provincial offices of education and schools, considering regional and school level characteristics, will be disseminated and shared through the Together School and Creative Character Education Net to establish a solid year-end academic operation system.
