POSCO E&C announced on the 5th that it has completed construction of 'The Sharp Dunchon Foret,' the largest remodeling complex in Korea, and has officially begun move-ins.
Located at 30-4 Dunchon-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, The Sharp Dunchon Foret was newly reborn this October after remodeling the Dunchon Hyundai 1st Apartment, originally completed in 1984, over a total of 38 months. Following 'Gaepo The Sharp Trie' (formerly Gaepo Woosung 9th), which was the first complex completed after the 2014 remodeling-related law revision, The Sharp Dunchon Foret is POSCO E&C's second completed remodeling complex.
The complex, which previously consisted of five buildings with 14 floors above ground and 498 households without an underground parking lot, was transformed into eight buildings with 14 floors above ground and 572 households, including two floors of underground parking, after remodeling. POSCO E&C emphasized that the addition of three newly constructed separate buildings is the first case among remodeling complexes in Korea. Of the 74 units for general sale, the subscription rate in the first priority application in March this year recorded an average of 93 to 1.
POSCO E&C converted the ground area previously used as a parking lot into landscaping space and newly established an underground parking lot, increasing the number of parking spaces from 368 to 703, nearly doubling the capacity. Additionally, various community facilities such as an indoor golf practice range, fitness club, GX room, small library, book cafe, and kids’ room were created.
All union member households were expanded from an exclusive area of 84㎡ to 93㎡ and 95㎡, with the addition of pantries and dressing rooms, and four rooms including an alpha room were provided. The ceiling height was secured by applying a design that places pipes and ducts outside the recessed ceiling. The 74 units for general sale, built as separate buildings, consist of 4-bay structures with exclusive areas of 84㎡ and 112㎡.
A POSCO E&C official stated, "Based on the company's technology and know-how, we will transform aging apartment complexes into premium complexes, enhancing the recognition of The Sharp brand and remodeling."
Meanwhile, POSCO E&C is also preparing for the completion of 'Jamsil The Sharp Ruben' (formerly Songpa Seongji Apartment), the only vertical extension permitted complex in Korea, scheduled for March 2025. In the Bundang area, POSCO E&C was selected as the construction company for five remodeling public support complexes in Seongnam City and has carried out construction for complexes such as Mujigae Village 4 Complex and Nut Village 3 and 4 Complexes.
