Chemical accident evacuation sites are designated locations where residents must urgently evacuate when a local government issues an evacuation order due to a chemical substance leak or spill. These sites are selected as safe places where local residents can protect themselves from exposure to hazardous chemicals.

To participate in the "Chemical Accident Evacuation Site Challenge," which runs from the 4th to the 10th, participants must visit the Chemical Safety Agency’s Instagram or Naver Form and submit the correct answers to quizzes related to chemical accident evacuation sites. Winners will be announced on the 14th, and a total of 30 people will receive prizes worth 30,000 KRW each.

Paju City has designated and operates seven chemical accident evacuation sites, and the list of designated sites can be checked on the disaster safety news board on the Paju City Hall website.

In September, the city distributed a guidebook on Paju City’s chemical accident resident response procedures to each eup, myeon, dong office, health center, and library to inform residents on how to report chemical accidents and how to evacuate in case of an incident.

Jo Yoon-ok, Director of the Environmental Guidance Division, said, “Chemical accident evacuation sites are places that ensure citizens’ safety and minimize damage when a chemical accident occurs. We hope this challenge will provide an opportunity for residents to check the chemical accident evacuation sites around them.”
