Coupang Fulfillment Service Launches New Recruitment
Sign-On Bonus of 15 Million KRW Paid in Installments
South Korea's largest e-commerce company, Coupang's core affiliate, Coupang Fulfillment Service (CFS), is launching the largest-ever recruitment drive for automation personnel. To attract top talent, CFS has offered an unprecedented incentive in this recruitment. Successful candidates will receive a bonus on the condition of a one-year mandatory employment.
On the 4th, CFS announced that it will publicly recruit more than 200 equipment maintenance engineers in the upcoming fourth quarter. This is the largest recruitment ever in the automation sector. Successful candidates will receive a total of 15 million KRW as a 'sign-on bonus,' paid in four installments, based on a one-year mandatory employment. The workplaces eligible for the bonus include a total of nine fulfillment centers (FCs): Goyang1, Dongtan1, Incheon2, Incheon4·14, Anseong4·5·8, and Gonjiam1.
Applicants must be majors or certificate holders related to equipment maintenance or have more than one year of experience. The main duties include equipment maintenance, safety and operational improvements, new center line construction, and computerized management.
Applicants can choose their workplace from Coupang FCs nationwide, and document submission will be conducted through job recruitment sites by the 21st. Video interviews will be held on the 19th, 20th, 27th, and 28th, and the final successful candidates will join sequentially starting in December.
FCs are core infrastructure facilities for e-commerce companies including Coupang. They handle product orders, storage, and distribution on behalf of online sellers and manage the entire process up to final customer delivery. Unlike simple logistics warehouses, they feature various automated facilities that maximize logistics productivity.
Coupang is also putting all efforts into expanding FC infrastructure. It plans to invest more than 3 trillion KRW in nationwide logistics infrastructure by 2026 and aims to build and operate logistics facilities including FCs in nine regions by early next year. It also plans to directly hire up to 10,000 young people in their 20s as new employees.
The sign-on bonus is also an incentive system to actively recruit top talent. This system is a special bonus paid by companies to new hires and has recently gained attention as competition for talent acquisition among companies intensifies.
