CIS, a specialist company in secondary battery equipment and materials, is showing strong performance. The news that it has signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with a North American energy company for the development and supply of all-solid-state electrolyte materials appears to be influencing its stock price. Following the NDA signed on the 23rd of last month with a renowned European automobile manufacturer regarding all-solid-state battery materials and equipment business, CIS has laid the groundwork for mass supply of solid electrolyte materials for all-solid-state batteries in overseas markets.
As of 9:35 a.m. on the 5th, CIS is trading at 10,310 KRW, up 15.71% from the previous day.
CIS expects collaboration to expand in the future as the partner company with which it signed the NDA is actively pursuing all-solid-state battery technology development as a new business. CIS expanded its cooperative relationship, which began with a project with CISolid, a company it absorbed earlier this year, through the NDA signing.
A CIS representative explained, "In a situation where global market demand for all-solid-state battery technology and products is increasing, we have strived to possess proprietary solid electrolyte mass production technology," adding, "We have filed numerous patents." The representative further stated, "We plan to strengthen cooperation with customers in North America and Europe and solidify our position in the global market."
CIS recently gained recognition for its competitiveness in the all-solid-state battery materials and equipment sector and signed an NDA contract with a European automobile manufacturer.
A CIS representative said, "As a global top-tier battery manufacturer announced plans to mass-produce all-solid-state batteries within a few years, demand for next-generation battery technology is increasing," and added, "We are supplying solid electrolyte samples for all-solid-state batteries to global automobile manufacturers."
CIS recently established a pilot production line for solid electrolyte mass production, securing an annual production capacity of several tons. It is preparing for mass production through a self-developed continuous production system. Significant results are expected in the all-solid-state materials sector.
All-solid-state batteries are attracting attention as next-generation batteries because they offer better safety and energy density than conventional lithium-ion batteries, improving electric vehicle driving range and charging speed. CIS’s strategy is to respond swiftly to these market changes, as automobile companies, including those in Europe, are actively developing next-generation battery technologies.
