'Women Venture Week' Opens... World Women Venture Forum Vision Declaration Ceremony Held

Discovering and Awarding Outstanding Women Venture Companies
Exploring Innovative Growth and Global Expansion of Women Venture Companies

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Women’s Venture Association announced on the 5th that they will hold the ‘2024 Women’s Venture Week Opening Ceremony and World Women’s Venture Forum Vision Declaration Ceremony’ at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel.


Now in its fifth year, the week-long event aims to discover and award outstanding women-led venture companies and explore sustainable management and innovative growth for women-led ventures. This year, about 300 CEOs of domestic and international women-led ventures and startups attended.


In particular, the World Women’s Venture Forum (WoWF) Vision Declaration Ceremony is an event newly launched this year by the Women’s Venture Association under the slogan “Innovating toward the Future, Soaring to the World as Women Ventures,” to promote technological advancement and build cooperative networks through collaboration among women-led tech companies worldwide. More than 70 tech-based women-led companies from 29 countries including the United States, China, and India participated.


'Women Venture Week' Opens... World Women Venture Forum Vision Declaration Ceremony Held

The first day of the week began with the ‘Opening Tech Show,’ where women-led ventures presented their technologies under the themes of global, tech, and future, followed by the ‘Government Awards for Venture and Startup Promotion’ and the ‘World Women’s Venture Forum Vision Declaration Ceremony’ as part of the opening events.


At the government awards, Jang Hye-won, CEO of Shinheung Information and Communications, received the Presidential Citation, and Kim Da-hye, CEO of Olive Stone, received the Prime Minister’s Citation. In addition, a total of 44 citations and certificates were awarded to women venture entrepreneurs and others.


On the second day, overseas tech-based companies participating in the ‘World Women’s Venture Forum Vision Declaration Ceremony’ held a ‘Global Business Exchange Meeting’ and a ‘Global Innovation Growth Academy,’ and on the third day, the second ‘Global Innovation Growth Academy’ will be held, covering topics such as AI industry response strategies and global investment attraction strategies.


Kim Sung-seop, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “This event, which declares the global advancement will of women-led ventures and takes the first step toward global exchange among domestic and international tech-based women-led companies, is very meaningful,” adding, “We will actively support and back our women-led ventures so that they can soar into the global market and lead the sustainable growth of our economy.”
