LG Innotek 'Materials and Components Science Classroom', Nurturing 10,000 Dreamers Over 14 Years

Providing Opportunities to Increase Interest in Science Linked to Materials and Parts Industry

LG Innotek announced on the 5th that the cumulative number of children benefiting from its representative social contribution activity, the 'Materials and Components Science Classroom,' has surpassed 10,000.

The 'Materials and Components Science Classroom' is an activity that selects topics related to the materials and components industry, such as semiconductors and wireless communication, and provides customized education from theory to practice for elementary school students. It was established to offer children quality educational opportunities and to foster interest in science.

LG Innotek has been operating the 'Materials and Components Science Classroom' for 14 years since 2011, expanding its scale annually. So far, the number of participating children has exceeded 13,000, establishing it as LG Innotek's representative social contribution program for children and youth.

This year, LG Innotek is conducting the science classroom program for 3,600 participants. To contribute to solving childcare issues, the support scope has been expanded to include regional children's centers, youth after-school academies, and care centers nationwide. After learning scientific theories online, practical classes are held where participants use kits to build autonomous vehicles, VR glasses, and more.

An LG Innotek official said, "We are providing enjoyable study opportunities to children who need after-school education and have received positive responses from parents," adding, "We expect to help families in need of childcare education by expanding the range of participants."

CEO Moon Hyuk-soo stated, "I hope the 'Materials and Components Science Classroom' will serve as a good foundation for children as they grow envisioning their futures," and added, "Going forward, LG Innotek will continue to strengthen social contribution activities with neighbors such as children, youth, and vulnerable groups under the social contribution vision of 'a company that adds happiness through genuine nurturing and sharing.'"
