92% of Middle and High School Students in Gyeonggi Region Choose Autonomous Meals and Are "Satisfied"

92% of middle and high school students in Gyeonggi-do who have chosen autonomous meal service expressed satisfaction with school meals.


The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced on the 5th that a mobile survey on school meals was conducted from October 10 to 17 among 2,175 middle and high school students in the province. According to the results, 92% of students at middle and high schools in the province that have introduced autonomous meal selection responded that they are satisfied with school meals. Additionally, 96% of students at schools operating autonomous meal selection said that the autonomous meal selection should continue. Currently, 250 schools in the province have introduced autonomous meal selection.

In this survey, both students from schools operating and not operating autonomous meal selection cited clean hygiene management as the top priority when operating school meals.


Gal In-seok, head of the School Meal and Health Division at the Provincial Office of Education, said, "In response to the positive evaluation from middle and high school students, we will make further efforts to solidify and stabilize the operation of autonomous meal selection." He added, "We will also do our best to support students' practical nutrition and dietary education led by students to enhance their dietary management capabilities and cultivate basic character."


Meanwhile, this public opinion survey was conducted by Korea Research, with a sampling error of ±1.95 percentage points at a 95% confidence level for schools operating autonomous meal selection, and ±4.17 percentage points for schools not operating it.
