US 'Nation's Little Sister' Chloe Moretz "I'm Gay... Support Harris"

"Legal Protection Needed for the LGBTQ+ Community"

Famous Hollywood actress Chloe Moretz has announced her support for U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. Along with this, she attracted attention by 'coming out' as a homosexual.

Moretz posted a photo certifying her early voting on her official Instagram account on the 2nd (local time). In the accompanying caption, she stated, "I voted for Harris."

Regarding why she cast her vote for the Democratic candidate, she said, "There is a lot at stake in this election," adding, "I believe the government should have no rights over my female body, and decisions about my body should be made only by me and my doctor."

This is interpreted as expressing opposition to the Republican Party, which maintains a hardline stance on U.S. abortion policies. Previously, during the presidency of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, he appointed three conservative Supreme Court justices, resulting in a conservative majority on the federal Supreme Court. Subsequently, the federal-level abortion rights guaranteed by the 'Roe v. Wade' ruling were nullified on June 24, 2022, by the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision.

She continued, "Harris will protect that for us," and added, "Also, as a homosexual, I believe there is a need for 'legal protections' to safeguard the LGBTQ community."

She encouraged, "We must be protected in this country and be able to receive the care we need and deserve," and urged people to "make plans to go to the polling station with friends."

Meanwhile, Vice President Harris is also emphasizing abortion rights and appealing for support in this election. On the 2nd, at abortion rights rallies held in major U.S. cities such as Washington, Boston, and Chicago, declarations of support for Harris were continuous. The U.S. daily newspaper The Washington Post (WP) analyzed that if Harris wins in five or more of the seven battleground states in the U.S., it is highly likely that the abortion issue worked in her favor.
