Yangju City Corporation Obtains Road Traffic Safety Management System Certification

Gyeonggi Yangju Urban Corporation (President Lee Heung-gyu) announced on the 4th that it had obtained the ISO 39001 certification for the 'Road Traffic Safety Management System' on the 31st of last month, becoming the first local public enterprise in the country to do so.

The Road Traffic Safety Management System certification was acquired through an objective and rigorous evaluation by the accredited certification body, the Korea Management Registrar (KMR). This system verifies the organization's traffic safety policies and the continuous efforts to inspect and improve them according to international standards.

Yangju Urban Corporation has been implementing various policies to enhance road traffic safety with the full interest and support of Yangju City and the Yangju City Council, including ▲equipping all vehicles used by vulnerable road users with AEDs ▲introducing new AI technologies for safe driving ▲improving the road traffic management system ▲consulting on the introduction of advanced vehicle safety devices, all aimed at ensuring citizen safety and regional traffic security. Through this certification, all these processes have been proven to comply with international standards, resulting in increased reliability of traffic services.

President Lee Heung-gyu stated, “Obtaining this Road Traffic Safety Management System certification is the fruit of our efforts to minimize traffic risk situations that may occur to citizens,” and added, “We will continue to invest and strive to contribute to citizens and the local community.”
