Yangju City Adds 2 More G1300 Express Buses to Operation

Enhancing Citizen Convenience

Yangju City, which is on the verge of surpassing 300,000 citizens due to steady population inflow, is continuing its busy efforts to improve citizen convenience, including enhancing metropolitan transportation conditions in line with the changing population structure.

Yangju City Adds 2 More G1300 Express Buses to Operation

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 4th that it will increase the operation of the ‘G1300 Metropolitan Bus,’ running from Deokjeong Depot in the city to Jamsil Metropolitan Transfer Center, by 2 buses in November.

This measure comes in response to the inconvenience caused to citizens due to the rapid increase in passengers using metropolitan buses commuting to and from Seoul. As a result of continuous consultations with the Metropolitan Transportation Committee under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the number of operating vehicles for the ‘G1300 Metropolitan Bus’ has been increased from the existing 21 to 23.

In particular, on weekdays, the number of trips will increase by 10, reducing the existing 7 to 15-minute intervals between buses to approximately 3 to a maximum of 7 minutes, which is expected to alleviate congestion during commuting hours.

Furthermore, with the opening of new metropolitan bus routes to Jamsil Metropolitan Transfer Center and Byeollae Station scheduled for the first half of next year, transportation convenience for local residents is expected to improve even further.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “We will promote rapid increase in bus operations through swift consultations with related organizations,” and added, “We will continue to strive to expand metropolitan buses and improve operations so that citizens do not experience stress during their commutes.”
