Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, upon returning from a business trip to Europe, visited the AriCell fire accident memorial altar set up at the provincial government building on the 4th as his first official schedule, along with Administrative Deputy Governor Kim Seong-jung and key department heads, to pay tribute to the victims.
Gyeonggi Province explained that Governor Kim's tribute was due to the completion of all funerals for the 23 victims of the AriCell fire on the 3rd.
On the day of the accident, June 24, Governor Kim visited the site and urged the rapid suppression of the fire by mobilizing all available resources, and subsequently instructed to do their best in accident response and recovery, as well as support for the injured and bereaved families.
Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province operated a 24-hour 'Integrated Support Center' to assist the fire victims and their families, supported the stabilization of the injured's lives, provided airfare and living expenses for the families of foreign victims, and conducted emergency inspections of lithium handling workplaces and waste battery recycling companies in the province to prevent recurrence of the accident.
