As of the 1st, a total of eight CCTVs have been installed. Seven citizen guards, including martial arts black belts, are also patrolling around Jo Doo-soon's residence 24 hours a day in shifts of two to three people.


On the 31st of last month, Lee Min-geun, mayor of Ansan City, inspected the security status and safety hazards at Jo Doo-soon's residence and stated, "We will cooperate with the Ministry of Justice and the police to establish a hotline and prepare effective safety measures prioritizing the alleviation of citizens' anxiety and safety." Jo Doo-soon moved on the 25th of last month, reportedly due to the expiration of the monthly rental contract of his previous residence. It is reported that since moving, Jo Doo-soon has not left the house even once and remains in seclusion.


Meanwhile, Jo Doo-soon was sentenced to 12 years in prison for abducting and sexually assaulting an elementary school girl in front of a church in Ansan City in December 2008, causing serious injuries, and was released on December 12, 2020, after serving his sentence. However, he was re-indicted for violating the "nighttime outing ban after 9 p.m." order by going outside his residence in Ansan City for about 40 minutes at 9:05 p.m. on December 4 last year. At that time, he was found to have walked from the first-floor communal entrance door of his residence building about 6 to 7 meters to a security post and spoke to two police officers on duty. Jo Doo-soon explained that he left without permission due to domestic discord, saying, "I thought I would leave before a big fight with my wife escalated."
